All classrooms and exterior doors require a unique parent PIN. Visitors must be buzzed in and sign the visitor log. No exceptions.
Every employee undergoes Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and FBI fingerprint background checks before their first day.
Lead teachers perform a visual wellness check at drop-off and document symptoms. Children with fever or contagious illness must stay home 24 hours after symptoms resolve.
Sunflower is a completely nut-free facility. Our kitchen and all snacks are peanut and tree-nut free to protect children with severe allergies.
Annual inspections by the Nashville Fire Marshal. Monthly fire drills, quarterly lockdown drills, and CPR-certified staff in every classroom.
Photos, meals, naps, diaper changes, and notes - delivered to your phone in real time throughout the day. You’re never left wondering.
Daily Rhythm

How Enrollment Works
Fill out our short inquiry form below with your child’s age, desired start date, and program of interest.
We’ll reach out within one business day to schedule a 45-minute tour of the facility.
We’ll confirm availability or place your child on our priority waitlist (average wait 3–8 weeks for infants).
Sign the enrollment contract, submit required documents (immunizations, birth certificate, emergency contacts).
A 30-minute meet-and-greet with your child’s lead teacher before the first full day.
FAQ
Ratios are 4:1 for infants, 5:1 for toddlers, 8:1 for Preschool Prep, and 10:1 for Pre-K - all at or better than Tennessee TDHS requirements. We believe smaller groups produce better outcomes.
Yes. We accept CCAP (Child Care Assistance Program), Tennessee childcare vouchers, and employer-sponsored Dependent Care FSA funds. Contact us to verify current availability before enrollment.
Children must be fever-free (below 100.4°F), vomit-free, and diarrhea-free for 24 hours without medication before returning. We know this is hard - but it’s how we keep your healthy child from getting sick.
Sunflower is a completely nut-free campus. For other allergies, we maintain an allergy action plan signed by a physician and communicate with parents daily. Our kitchen team is allergy-trained.
Our curriculum is Reggio-inspired and project-based, meaning children’s own questions and interests guide learning. We layer in intentional pre-literacy, pre-math, and social-emotional skill-building within child-led play.
We use Brightwheel for real-time photo updates, daily reports (meals, naps, diapers, activities), and secure two-way messaging. We also hold twice-yearly parent-teacher conferences.
Doors open at 6:30am and close at 6:30pm Monday through Friday. A late pickup fee of $5/minute applies after 6:30pm to respect our teachers’ time.
Infant spots have the highest demand with an average 3–8 week wait. Toddler, Preschool Prep, and Pre-K often have openings. Submit an inquiry and we’ll tell you exactly where things stand.
